Make a note of the dates March 3rd, 4th and 5th – for on these dates the Lauderdale-By-The Sea Community Theater Arts Group returns to Jarvis Hall where you can expect another fun presentation of short plays. The details are below.
These events, the Sea Shorts, are free and open to the public.
The plays you can expect to enjoy include
Yellow by playwright Lisa Bruna from Palm Beach County. This play won the third place in 2016 in the Camino Real Playhouse’s 23rd Annual International Playwriting Contest. The play features two siblings and the unexpected events they encounter when driving down the highway.
“Yellow is a wonderful and moving play, and we’re honored to include it as part of this year’s Sea Shorts production,” said Steve d’Oliveira, the director for this year’s show. “It’s worth coming out just to see Yellow.”
The plays, all of which are approximately 10 minutes duration, include three comedies that are being premiered during Sea Shorts, Reunion, Boris and Title Pending.
On Friday March 3rd and Saturday March 4th, performances will begin at 7 pm. The Sunday matinee on March 5th starts at 4 pm. You can take your seats 30 minutes before the showtimes. Jarvis Hall is located at 4505 North Ocean Drive which is a mile and a half north of Commercial Boulevard and adjacent to the Town Hall which is providing free parking for the events.
