In Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (LBTS to locals) being small is BIG to us. Nestled between the cities of Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, LBTS has that Old Florida charm and small-town vibes we all crave from time-to-time. Once you arrive, you’ll quickly notice that there’s no car needed in our quaint beach town. After all, one of the most popular ways to explore our colorful little paradise is by bike.
If you didn’t bring your bike with you, relax – there’s plenty of options to score some wheels. First, be sure to check with your hotel in Town to see if they offer complimentary bike rentals (many do!). You can also rent bikes from Pedrito’s Bike Shop on Commercial Blvd. or at the B-Cycle rental stand on A1A, just north of Commercial.
Once you have your wheels, spend the day exploring all that our little town has to offer. El Mar Drive is a favorite detour for A1A cyclists with its small hotels and condos lining the street – and better beach views. Stop for a bite or sweet treat at one of our many local eateries or browse for treasures in our eclectic little shops. Now, biking around LBTS is even easier – there are 30 bike racks throughout Town.
There’s many places to capture those post-worthy fresh air moments at one of our funky, fish-shaped bike racks. Be sure to share your photos with us on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #LoveLBTS for a chance to be featured on the Town’s feeds.
We love welcoming Broward cyclists that are stopping through on rides from the north and south. To further encourage biking around LBTS , we’ve added a bike repair station at El Mar Plaza (on El Mar south of Commercial) for minor bike repairs and air. Looking for a comprehensive bike route map?
