The day starts with Town’s annual parade at 10AM along El Mar Drive and continues with “Family Fun Day” activities in El Prado Park from 11AM to 3PM which includes the LBTS VFD ‘s waterslide, clowns, face painting, and food. The spirited day concludes with fireworks shot off the beach just north of El Prado Park at 9PM.
A big shout out to this year’s parade Grand Marshal Everett Sorenson, a long-time Town resident and business owner who moved to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea in 1959! Everett and his business partner, Frank Myatt, rebuilt Anglin’s Pier in 1962 and was a pioneer in the early stages of Town’s development. “Everett is a wonderful choice for Grand Marshal,”Comm. Buz Oldaker said. “He has been involved in this community for 60 years and deserves to be honored and recognized.” Join us on the 4th to honor Mr. Sorenson’s major contributions to our little town!
