Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida (June 27, 2024) – The Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea will hold its free, annual Fourth of July Parade and Family Fun Day on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., complete with a festive parade, family-friendly activities, and a beachfront fireworks display. The Town is proud to announce that Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Immediate Past Mayor Chris Vincent will serve as this year’s parade Grand Marshal.
“The bond we share in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is one of the many things I value, and there’s no better way to unite us than a Fourth of July celebration,” said Immediate Past Mayor Vincent. “I look forward to celebrating our nation’s freedom amongst my neighbors, former colleagues, and friends.”
Immediate Past Mayor Vincent served the Town for 14 years as a commission and then Mayor and has been one of the Town’s biggest advocates. Under his guidance, the Town completed the Downtown Redevelopment Project in November 2023, bringing permanent outdoor seating and expanded sidewalks to the community.
“We are happy to welcome Immediate Past Mayor Vincent during our parade as this year’s Grand Marshal,” said Commissioner Theo Poulopoulos, this year’s Fourth of July Chairman. “His dedication to our town is evident through his ongoing support, and we’re excited to have him kick off this year’s celebration.”
The parade will travel south on Bougainvilla Drive, east along Pine Avenue, then south on El Mar Drive to Hibiscus Avenue. Following the parade, everyone is invited to head to El Prado Park (4500 El Mar Drive) to enjoy the Family Fun Day festivities.
Schedule of Events:
- 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.- Fourth of July Parade.
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.- Family Fun Day at El Prado Park with a waterslide, a DJ, face painting, treats, and more.
- 9 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.- Fireworks display. The watch zone will be along El Mar Drive.
