Thank you to everyone who continues to rediscover the charm of our little beach town. While many of our eateries, cute little shops, and hotels will be open for business this July 4thweekend, Broward County has ordered all beaches, including ours, to close from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 3, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2020.
The Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is continuing to strictly follow all state and county guidelines for reopening. In an effort to prioritize everyone’s safety, our Fourth of July parade, Family Day, and fireworks display have been canceled. The Pelican Hopper will operate on Friday, July 3 only, and will resume its regular schedule on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Although the beach will be closed, we encourage you to take a stroll through Town this weekend. Check out our handy walking map and be sure to tag us on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #LoveLBTS for an opportunity to be featured on the town’s social media feeds. Enjoy a meal at one of our reopened restaurants, or shop for treasures in our retail stores. Can’t make it to our beach town in person this weekend? Enjoy our beautiful views from the comfort of your home by watching our live webcams.
If you do choose to visit this weekend, we ask that you please respectfully follow all safety measures that are currently in place to maintain a safe environment. Facial coverings are required in all public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained. Please continue maintaining six feet of distance from those not in your party, and wash your hands frequently. We must all do our part to keep our community safe.
We look forward to resuming our town’s 4thof July traditions in 2021. In the meantime… relax… you’re here.
